Divers who enjoy macro diving will feel right at home at Blue Bouy. A relatively easy and shallow dive, this site is swarming with life from beginning to end. Take your time to get up close to the coral formations and admire the tiny but intricately decorated nudibranchs. Bright blue and powdery white christmas tree worms tuck themselves away once they sense your presence, reappearing when the coast is clear.

All around the anchor blocks, roughly 8 metres down, watchful gobies rest on the sandy bottom not far from their holes. As the gobi stands guard, their roommate – the blind shrimp – dutifully keeps house by shovelling out little loads of sand.

Schools of bump-headed parrotfish have also been spotted at Blue Bouy, creating a complete contrast with the smaller animals. These enormous fish, some more than a metre long, are impressive when spotted alone and truly captivating when seen travelling in groups of 30. With their teethe seared together to form a massive beak, these fish are intimidating enough to make you want to get out of their way!
