HABA began in 1986 as Coral Sea Diving Services and was purchased in 1989 by a Japanese cosmetics company Health And Beauty Aids (HABA).  By 1992 HABA was 100% Australian owned and operated and remains so today. With a solid reputation in the tourism industry as a professional and friendly organization the business has continued to trade as HABA.  Since 1998 HABA has been owned by Port Douglas locals, husband & wife team Bruce Funch & Josann Reynolds. Bruce & Josann had spent the previous 4½ years living aboard their own 48 foot vessel diving & cruising New Guinea, The Solomon Islands and Australia's Great Barrier Reef.  It was their eagerness to share this incredible underwater paradise that led them into the marine tourism industry.
